Crazy Hat's Galore!
Approximately a hundred well-dressed party animals turned out at the Teton Tepee in Alta on November 9 to celebrate the Valley Advocates for Responsible Development’s fifth annual Mad Hatter Party. In addition to the prizes given for various mad hats, VARD presented three community-service awards. Kathi Myers received the Volunteer of the Year Award; Sabra Steele, a Teton County Planning and Zoning Commissioner, accepted the Community Vision Award; and Grand Targhee Resort owner Geordie Gillett was the recipient of the Community Contribution Award, for his efforts in the realm of affordable housing, organizing the Music on Main summer concert series, and more. VARD uses money raised through the event’s auction, raffle, and ticket sales to advocate and educate for responsible community planning in our fast-growing valley.
