Junior Miss Program

On March 8, a dozen high school juniors, after practicing for months, participated in the local Junior Miss Program. With a standing-room-only crowd in the high-school auditorium, Heather Ripplinger was awarded the title “Teton’s 2009 Junior Miss.” She received $2,600 of the total $9,600 in scholarship monies awarded that evening, for feats ranging from self-expression to scholastic performance. This year, all twelve participants received some scholarship monies, which is not the case every year. Heather now moves on to take part in the state program in early October in Coeur d’Alene. The winner of the Junior Miss state title goes to the America’s Junior Miss program, slated for June 2009 in Mobile, Alabama.
