Movin' On
On March 15, Michael Whitfield greeted more than 150 revelers attending his going away party at the Teton Tepee in Alta. Michael said goodbye in February to the Teton Regional Land Trust, a group he helped create in 1990. During his three years as board president and fourteen years as executive director, he played a pivotal role as the organization helped landowners preserve more than 25,000 acres of land and water resources in Teton, Bonneville, Jefferson, Fremont, Madison, and Clark counties. Michael will continue working to protect natural resources in his new role as Coordinator of the Heart of the Rockies Initiative, a consortium of twenty-four land trusts working along the Continental Divide in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, and Canada.
